ScanMyPills is operated by Oru Studio LLC (“Oru Studio”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
What we collect
ScanMyPills collects the information you choose to add to the app, such as medication names, doses, schedules, notes, reminders, scan results, OCR text, safety review items, exported summaries, and profile details. If you create an account, we collect basic account information through Firebase Authentication, such as your email address or Apple sign-in identifier.
How we use your information
We use your information to provide the app's core features: saving medication lists, showing schedules and reminders, processing scans and OCR results, creating summaries, supporting shared profiles, managing Care Circle access, and helping you organize information for conversations with healthcare providers.
How your data is stored
Account and medication information may be stored with Google Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication and Firestore. Some app features may also use Firebase Cloud Messaging or device notification services to support reminders and notifications. We use reasonable safeguards, but no system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.
Shared profiles and Care Circle
If you create or join a shared profile or Care Circle, medication information in that profile may be visible to users who have been granted access. You are responsible for making sure sharing is appropriate and authorized, and for managing who can access shared information.
Subscriptions and purchases
If you purchase a subscription or paid feature, payment and subscription information may be processed by Apple and RevenueCat. ScanMyPills may receive subscription status, entitlement, purchase, renewal, and cancellation information so we can unlock paid features and manage access. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Analytics and attribution
We may use Firebase Analytics for app usage analytics, AppsFlyer for install attribution and campaign measurement, and Vercel Analytics for website page-view analytics. These services may collect technical information such as app events, device or browser information, approximate location, referral source, and identifiers used for analytics or attribution. We use this information to understand performance, improve the product, and measure whether outreach is working.
Service providers
We work with trusted service providers to run the app, store data, process subscriptions, deliver notifications, analyze usage, measure attribution, host the website, and support customer requests. These providers process information for us according to their own terms and privacy practices. We do not sell your medication information.
Scans, OCR, and app-generated results
Scan results, OCR text, safety review items, and summaries may be stored with your account so the app can show your medication information later. These results are for organization only and may be incomplete or incorrect. Always verify medication information with a qualified healthcare provider.
Your choices
You can update or delete information in the app. You can also manage reminders and notification permissions through the app or your device settings. If account deletion is available in the app, deleting your account will remove associated account data according to the app's deletion flow, though some limited records may be retained if required for security, legal, or operational reasons.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app changes. When we make changes, we will update the date on this page.
Privacy and medical decisions
ScanMyPills is a medication organization and caregiver coordination app. It is not a medical provider and does not replace professional medical advice. Please do not use the app as the only source for medication decisions.
