Terms of Use
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms of Use are entered into between you and Oru Studio LLC (“Oru Studio”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), the operator of ScanMyPills.
What ScanMyPills does
ScanMyPills is a medication organization and caregiver coordination app. It helps you keep medication names, schedules, notes, scan results, safety review items, and exported summaries in one place so you can stay organized and have more informed conversations with healthcare providers.
What ScanMyPills does not do
ScanMyPills does not diagnose conditions, recommend treatments, or replace the advice of a licensed healthcare provider. Nothing in this app constitutes medical advice.
Exported summaries are not medical records
Any summary, list, note, report, or export created in ScanMyPills is for personal organization only. Exports are not verified medical records, pharmacy records, prescribing records, or clinical documentation. Always confirm medication information with the person taking the medication, their caregiver, pharmacist, physician, or other qualified healthcare provider.
Accuracy and completeness
ScanMyPills may use information you enter, scan results, OCR, public reference data, and other app-generated outputs. We do not guarantee that medication names, doses, schedules, reminders, scans, OCR results, safety review items, reference information, or exports are accurate, complete, current, or suitable for any medical decision.
Reminders and notifications
Reminders and notifications are convenience tools only. We do not guarantee that reminders will be delivered, delivered on time, displayed correctly, or noticed by you or anyone else. Do not rely on ScanMyPills as the only way to manage medication timing or safety.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for reviewing, correcting, and verifying all information in the app before relying on it. You are also responsible for all medication decisions and for consulting qualified healthcare providers about diagnosis, treatment, dosing, interactions, allergies, side effects, missed doses, and medication changes.
Service provided as is
ScanMyPills is provided "as is" and "as available." We may change, suspend, interrupt, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We make no warranties, express or implied, about the service, including any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, reliability, or non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Oru Studio LLC, ScanMyPills, and their respective owners, employees, contractors, partners, service providers, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss, injury, claim, cost, or damage arising from your use of or inability to use the app. This includes issues related to medication decisions, missed or incorrect reminders, scan or OCR errors, inaccurate or incomplete information, safety review items, exported summaries, service interruptions, data loss, or reliance on app content. In no event shall our total aggregate liability exceed the amount you paid to use the app during the twelve months preceding the claim, or one dollar ($1.00) if no payment was made.
Shared profiles and Care Circle
If you share access to a profile with another user, you are responsible for ensuring that such sharing is appropriate and authorized by the individual whose medication information is being shared. You are also responsible for managing who has access to shared information.
Termination
You may stop using ScanMyPills at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the app or service if we believe you have violated these terms, created risk for other users or the service, or used the app in a way that is unlawful or harmful.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the date on this page. Your continued use of ScanMyPills after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Monterey County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
